Umurage Communication for development (UmC) in collaboration with Rwanda Biomedical Center (RBC) and the Ministry of Health has organized a campaign on a theme named “RAISING AWARENESS OF THE IMPORTANCE OF IMMUNIZATION & VACCINES”

UmC in partnership with Huye and Nyamagabe district officials has successfully carried outreach community mobilization through the live drama performance aimed at raising awareness on immunization in both districts to make the drama most attractive to the community
The sketch which was performed by Umurage drama Actors expressed the teaching on the importance of immunizing and vaccinating children
It is also to note that the staff from UmC attended the event and the district health center representatives delivered messages on immunization to around 1110 people, including men, women, and children.
This achievement would not have been possible without the support of local authorities, security organizations, and the community as well. They made sure that the community gets ready and prepared for the messages that were delivered. By doing this, the population was well notified, and mobilized by the time the Drama presentation was performed.
Additionally, questions concerning what the sketch taught them and the valuable role of both in the immunization of their children were asked to the community and the winners were given prizes.
